We Need Chairpersons for Harvest Home Weekend
Please volunteer to chair or co-chair a committee for our Harvest Home Weekend by contacting Chairperson Pat Remy at harvest@SaintAlphonsusWexford.org or calling 724-272-5108. Here are the positions that need to be filled:
Lead Committee – We need a person willing to share chairperson responsibilities with three members of the Lead Committee. The responsibilities include correspondence with sponsors and event providers, coordination with 33 committee chairs, and general support during Harvest Home Weekend and the week prior.
Co-Chair for After-Dinner Food Sales – This person will coordinate with the serving line and takeout chairpersons as Sunday’s dinner ends at 6 p.m. to pack up food containers with leftovers, then price and sell them. Once the sales are over, this person oversees cleaning up the sales area and moving the remaining leftovers to the school refrigerator. Overall, the shift lasts from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Chinese Auction Chair and Co-Chair – Love shopping? This is the job for you. The initial work of sending letters out to solicit donations has been completed. The chair and co-chair would need to shop for items for the baskets; another committee actually puts the baskets together and wraps them. This is a critical part of our festival. Please consider volunteering for this position now.
Chairpersons do not need to solicit their own volunteers. In August, we activate an electronic signup through SignUpGenius.com to list all of the volunteer slots so people can sign up easily. Chairs are expected to check that website periodically to ensure they have enough volunteers.
