Dear Fr. Kevin and Parishioners:

We would like to take this time to thank you for your generous donation of brand new items for the Christmas Store. The clothing, household items, tools and children’s toys are some of the most beautiful items that we receive. We would also like to thank you for your generous hospitality that you showed to Sr. Kathleen. She always enjoys visiting and spending time with you all. We appreciate your ongoing support of the ministries of St. Vincent Mission.

The staff along with our volunteers are finishing up this week with getting the Christmas Store ready for next week’s distribution. The donations that we have received throughout this time will be available for our Christmas Store participants starting Monday of next week. Each day we will have five groups of 10 to 12 families come and select items. So we thank you all for being partners with us and helping to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve.

We would like to wish you and all of your loved ones, a blessed Advent and Christmas season filled with blessings that will carry you into the New Year. We all have gone through some very tough times, including those who have gone through senseless shootings and killings, tornados, hurricanes and the everyday life experiences. May we find ourselves taking the time to bless each other and be given the grace to recognize God in each and every one.

Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through which he looks compassion on this world. Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good. Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now on earth but yours. – St. Teresa of Avila

Merry Christmas!

Every year, the St. Alphonsus family provides gifts for the Christmas Store at our sister mission in David, Kentucky, which serves hundreds of individuals annually. Here are photos from this year’s Christmas in Appalachia gift drive.
