St. Alphonsus Surpasses Goal for The Church Alive! Campaign
St. Alphonsus has surpassed its $1.4 million goal for Our Campaign for The Church Alive!
After the first of two commitment weekends on Sept. 14-15, pledges reached $1,562,554, which is 110 percent of the parish’s goal.
Parishioners who have been praying about their commitment are encouraged to make their pledges during the Sept. 21-22 weekend, which will wrap up our campaign.
Our Campaign for The Church Alive!is a historical comprehensive capital and endowment campaign— the first of its kind in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
It provides us with the opportunity to strengthen our immediate parish family here at St. Alphonsus and help our sisters and brothers across the six counties of our diocese. The campaign also allows us to answer the call from Bishop Zubik to grow our Catholic community and be excited about our faith.
Our parish target for this historic initiative in the Diocese of Pittsburgh is $1,425,000. Forty percent (40%) of that amount remains with us for our own parish needs, which is $570,000. For the funds raised above our goal, we will retain 60 percent (60%) and 40 percent will go to the diocese.
The St. Alphonsus funds are earmarked to install air-conditioning and washroom facilities in the church. We also will construct a meeting room adjoining the church for parish meetings, choir rehearsal before Mass and Children’s Liturgy during Mass.
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our parish families and the sacrifices that have been made in support of the Church.
