St. Alphonsus Shines Like Beacon on a Hill with New Lighting
Thanks to an anonymous donation to purchase lights to illuminate our steeple, St. Alphonsus Church shines like a beacon atop a hill.
Volunteer Rick Wittmer with help from our maintenance personnel, Carl Pieczynski and Nathan Krueger, and Michael Walter Landscaping worked to install the large lights on either side of the arch in front of the church. At night, the church can be seen from the Village at Pine shopping center, from Route 19 and beyond.
A beacon is defined as a strong light that can be seen from far away and that is used to help guide ships, airplanes and more. We’re hoping this beacon will guide souls to our doors.
