Former MLB pitcher Tom Walker encourages you to support his team — “Walker’s Walkers” — in the 2018 Pittsburgh Walk to Cure Arthritis, which will be held on Saturday, June 2, at Southside Works in Pittsburgh (South Water Street between 28th and Hot Metal Streets).

Tom, who is a parishioner at St. Alphonsus, is determined not to let arthritis slow him down even after multiple joint replacements. For more than 40 years, he has battled the inflammation, decreased mobility and severe pain caused by osteoarthritis.

Since 2014, he has raised over $115,000 for the Arthritis Foundation.  Last year alone, Tom and his “Walker’s Walkers” team raised more than $26,000 through the 2017 Pittsburgh Walk to Cure Arthritis event. This year, Tom hopes to raise even more to help the Arthritis Foundation fight for access to care and fund breakthrough research that can help develop new treatments.
