It’s Official on Oct. 15: St. Alphonsus, St. Alexis Come Together as Grouping
Effective Oct. 15, St. Alphonsus and St. Alexis are officially a parish grouping with Father Paul Zywan as our administrator and Father Joe Freedy serving as parochial vicar. Deacon Albert Heiles Jr. and Deacon Jeffrey Ludwikowski will also serve the two parishes.
One of the first things you will notice is the change in the Mass/Confessions schedule (see below). This interim schedule will be studied over the next few months to see if changes or adjustments are needed.
What else is new?
The priests will move into the St. Alphonsus rectory on Oct. 15. As Father Zywan wrote in the Sept. 30 bulletin, he and Father Freedy want to be in the same dwelling where they will share meals, prayer and fraternal support.
The St. Alphonsus Parish Office will be moving to the St. Alexis campus, which has more office space and conference rooms. That move will happen soon, but we do not have a definitive date. A number of details need to be worked out – such as how to handle phone lines.
Please be patient as we make these changes; the coming together of these two parishes is a work in progress that we have until the end of 2021 to complete.
