From Our Pastor – Message for Dec. 24, 2017 Bulletin
Due to December 25 falling on a Monday this year, a priest friend and mentor of mine began his own personal Advent journey a week early so that he had four full weeks of Advent!
Not a bad idea.
However you have spent — and will spend — this abbreviated preparation period, Christmas is now upon us. We celebrate the birth of God into humanity, the first greatest event in human and divine history. (The Resurrection is the second greatest … chronologically anyhow).
This all powerful, all knowing, all creative, all merciful God becomes vulnerable, poor, and dependent upon others. This means we can intimately identify with God, which is a remarkable blessing. He was born of a woman to walk in our humanity so that we may share in His divinity.
Many blessings to all of you during this hope-filled time of the year!
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Kevin C. Fazio
