From Our Pastor – June 11, 2017 Bulletin Message
St. Patrick and the religious sisters of years past had the three-leaf clover to “explain” the Trinity, and we have basketball!
While I do not get a chance to play much these days, my favorite game of basketball is “three on three,” far more than “one on one” or “two on two.” With two other teammates, you are able to enter more fully into the game the way it was meant to be played … moving, passing, screening, and defending on and off the ball. And if you are playing half-court, you don’t have to run up and down the floor!
Three distinct persons, one God … this is the mystery and definition of the Holy Trinity, professed by church leaders in the 3rd century.
While this may be difficult, or even impossible for the intellect to fully grasp, it is a mystery not made for the human mind alone, but for the entire human experience to participate in fully.
The Trinity is a dynamic movement, always alive, always in relationship with EVERYTHING.
Be in that relationship today.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Kevin C. Fazio
