From Our Pastor – Bulletin Message for March 11, 2018
Divine Providence Always at Work
While none of us will appear in Sacred Scripture, God continues to write his book of love through each and every one of us. We call this “Tradition”.
Can you see the work of God in and through your daily life? Sometimes it may be easier than others, but he is there, always, and in all places.
Our Lenten Fish Fry is a big deal in Wexford — and beyond. And, somehow, God is at work through it all … primarily through all of you. Please never forget this reality!
All of our volunteers are doing an unbelievable job with the overflowing crowds that we have had during the past two weeks. I cannot thank you enough, nor can Fish Fry Co-Chairs Frank McSorley and Mike Cuddy.
We also acknowledge that given our capacity and the extremely high number of visitors that we have had, things can get very stressful, frustrating, and at times overwhelming for all of us. Many are having fitful nights of sleep at the end of these hectic Fish Fry Fridays.
Where is God at work in all of this?
He is right in the middle of it — sending Jesus in the midst of the hectic pace of life, demonstrating God’s humanity being pulled through the difficulties by his divinity.
We are a Eucharistic people, being pulled through the challenges of life by that same divinity!
I am confident that we will respond to these challenges as God desires because of our focus on the Eucharist, and because we are taking many measures to alleviate traffic congestion outside in the parking lot and inside the school building.
We are getting word out to the public the best we can that everyone is more than welcome to visit our family here. At the same time, we are letting them know they can expect to wait in line for their Fish Fry meal, regardless of whether it is takeout or dine-in.
Please be patient and courteous when arriving on campus and follow the instructions of the parking lot attendants. We may be adjusting the parking area, building access and dine-in area for our handicapped guests during the remainder of our Fish Fry Fridays — we ask these guests to be especially alert to changing directions when they get on campus.
I am with all of you in prayer and thanksgiving for how good God is!
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Kevin C. Fazio
