The Most Fulfilling Time

I cannot thank everyone enough for all that you do for our parish and our community during the Lenten Season, Holy Week, and Easter!

From the Fish Fry to the Passion Play to the Triduum celebration and liturgies, culminating at all of our Easter Masses, it was for me the most fulfilling Lent, Holy Week and Easter – not just as a priest, but as a human being.

Now that we are in the Easter Season, we need to keep proclaiming and living the Good News of the Risen Jesus as our parish and our community continue to grow.

The many opportunities that we have to do so exist at St. Al’s, within our homes and in our communities. God’s presence is everywhere – we just need to respond to his call.

Looking ahead, as we soon wrap up the school year at Seelos Academy and our religious education year (CCD and RCIA), we will be busy through June with our golf outing, blood drive, 2018 Graduates’ Brunch,  Vacation Church & Bible Camp and Hoops for Life basketball camp.

Looking further ahead, Harvest Home Weekend will be held from Sept. 7-9, a community event that has been held for over 100 years in Wexford.

St. Al’s has always experienced great parish, school and community participation and cooperation for the Harvest Home Dinner. Now that we have expanded it to a weekend, that need for help continues as much as ever.

We are specifically in need of at least two more chairpersons for this event and I am first appealing to St. Al’s parishioners who send their child(ren) to Seelos Academy. While the weekend’s events are very much parish-driven, the proceeds benefit St. Alphonsus Parish and Seelos Academy equally. We split the profit 50/50 just as we do for the Fish Fry.

Please prayerfully consider participating as a co-chairperson and contact me or Communications Director Cindy Cusic Micco at or 724-935-1151.

I pray for you always.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Kevin C. Fazio
