The Family Is Growing!

Congratulations to Hayden Kennedy, Olivia Kost, and Ashley Nee who participated in the Rite of Election with Bishop Zubik last Sunday at St. Paul Cathedral. Along with hundreds of other candidates and catechumens from across the diocese. They stated formally their intention to proceed in their formation and preparation to be received into full communion with the Catholic Church and Craig Cacini, Gregory Gormley and Brendan Tartar who are to be baptized this year at the Great Easter Vigil on Saturday evening, April 20 at Saint Alphonsus.

Let us continue to pray for them in the days and weeks ahead. We ask the Lord to strengthen them in their vocation, build them into the kingdom of Jesus and to seal them in the Spirit of your promise! We are all blessed by your journey of discipleship and sincere thirst for the Lord. May you experience God’s continued blessings!

Update on Deacon Al

Deacon Al Heiles has recently undergone surgery to remove a cancerous portion of his lung, He has returned home for a period of rest and healing. Sadly, more cancer was detected. He will need to undergo six months of intense chemo therapy. This past week a port was installed to deliver the necessary treatment.

He wrote saying, “So many of my deacon brothers are going through things like this; mine is just another challenge. But I am uplifted with your prayers and we trust our prayers are heard.” Isn’t that just like Al to think of others while downplaying himself. God bless him!

Please support him in his recovery with your daily prayers as well as remembering his dear wife Donna, his nurse and stronghold. Besides your prayers, I am sure a card or note of encouragement would be appreciated. No calls, please. His address is:

Deacon Albert E. Heiles

Follow in the Footsteps of Jesus

Join us every Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Alexis as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus in praying the Stations of the Cross. Eucharistic devotions immediately follow and the whole service concludes at 8:00 p.m. If you are unable to attend the evening service, you are welcome to join the school children of Blessed Francis Seelos Academy at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Alphonsus.

We are so blessed by the rich treasure of this devotion. Make them your own by including them as part of your Lenten observance. Come as a family. Pass this gift on to your children. Hope to see you there!
