From Father Zywan – Bulletin Message for February 17, 2019
Thanks to everyone who has already submitted feedback on the Interim Mass Schedule Survey. The diocesan On Mission office has asked parishioners in every parish grouping to complete this simple form. Your input is helpful in guiding future directions for our parish community. We still have certain restraints and practical circumstances that need also to be taken into account in moving forward. However, contrasting these realities against practical needs will lead us to where we need to be.
If you have not completed a survey you still have time to do so. The preferred method of participation is to go online at SaintAlphonsusWexford.org.
If this is not possible, hard copies may be found in the back of both Saint Alphonsus and Saint Alexis churches. Submissions will be accepted up until February 28. To help provide accurate and fair information, valid submissions require one’s signature. Thank you!
Say It with FLOWERS!
We are grateful to parishioners who recently remembered loved ones and special occasions with flowers before the altar at Saint Alexis. What a beautiful way to say thank you to God for the blessings in our lives. At the same time, a floral display is a meaningful way of sharing your joy in the Lord with the whole community. If you are planning on celebrating the birthday or anniversary of a loved one or yourself, please consider saying it with flowers. In order to create an arrangement that is proportional to the sanctuary, the cost of arrangements runs between $100 – $150.
Please consider this expression of love and gratitude to God, others, or events in your life by contacting the parish offices. You may schedule the date (with the exception of the Lenten season) while the parish places the order with your preference in mind. It is hoped that benefactors will come forward at both Saint Alphonsus and Saint Alexis in the future. Your memorial intention for flowers will be listed in our bulletin each week.
Please contact MaryEllen at 724.935.4343 for either parish if you are interested in purchasing altar flowers. Again, share your joy; say it with flowers!
Last week, the steel was set in place for the new main entrance for the building that houses the parish’s offices. With the steel in place and the walls being framed-in, the buildings improvements are beginning to take shape. We are now waiting for the brick that was ordered for the front façade to be delivered.
On the interior, some of the old offices have been freshened-up with a new coat of paint, carpeting, and soon, new light fixtures. We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience while this work is taking place. We look forward to continue serving you while these improvements are being made and in the future. Thank you for your understanding and God bless.
In Jesus’ love,
