Our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Atrium — a class that serves preschoolers and kindergartners as part of our CCD program – is attracting a large number of children!

We need several teen and/or adult assistants to help with the class, which is held on Mondays from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in the school.

Generally a class in the Atrium includes:  A presentation of a part of the Bible or Liturgy by the catechist, a period of time for children to work with materials of their choice, and a gathering time of worship and song at the prayer table.

Helpers need to arrive at 5:40 p.m. to assist with setting up the classroom. During Atrium time, the assistant will read booklets to children as needed, light the candles on the altar, and monitor student needs. After class, the assistants restore and organize the class materials.

Documentation of volunteer service hours will be provided for teen helpers. You need to be able to commit to attending Monday evenings when CCD is in session, Jan. 8 through May 8.  Training will be provided.  Share the joy of our faith!  Contact Gail Clendaniel at the rectory office 724-935-1151.
