We welcome and encourage young people to participate in the life of the church by becoming altar servers.

Girls and boys in fourth grade and up who have made their First Communion are eligible to assist the priest as altar servers. They serve at weekend Masses, Holy Days of Obligation, special liturgies, funerals and weddings.

Altar servers accompany the priest as he enters and leaves the Mass. They carry the cross and the processional candles; hold the book for the priest celebrant when he is not at the altar; carry the incense and censer; present the bread, wine, and water to the priest during the preparation of the gifts or assist him when he receives the gifts from the people; wash the hands of the priest; assist the priest celebrant and deacon as necessary.

Training sessions are scheduled at different times throughout the year.

Once trained, altar servers can sign up to serve at Masses that fit their schedules. Click here for the online signup.
